Zombie survival store hit by brazen burglar

A brazen burglar smashed his way into the Colorado Zombie Outpost and stole multiple weapons, but his crime was all caught on camera. Now, the owner hopes someone recognizes the hooded thief.

The burglar shattered the front door at 4:07 Monday morning and headed straight for the display case at the front.

“He knew what he was after — he went straight for the knives and axes,” owner Pearre Cabell said.

He struggled with the case, kicking it repeatedly and even using one of the store’s hatchets on it to try and get inside. He was only able to grab a few knives, then moved to the wall to grab swords. Then he ran to the back of the store, grabbed more swords and tactical gear and took off.

The smash and grab took only about a minute, but it left a trail of destruction in its wake and a small business hurting.

“This hits us hard because this is our livelihood,” Cabell said. “We worked for four years to build this and this is how I provide for my five kids.”

The hooded thief cost the store between $2-4 thousand in damages and stolen goods.
