Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Early Low Clouds – 9/9/18

Today: Areas of low cloud cover and pockets of drizzle over parts of eastern Colorado will give way to a partly cloudy sky again today. Conditions should be pleasant for runners participating in the Race For The Cure this morning at Garden of the Gods. Expect a modest breeze this afternoon with temperatures warming into the 70s and 80s over the plains, 60s and 70s for the mountains. Thunderstorms appear a little more likely for some areas today, but thunderstorms that do develop will remain widely spaced and fairly weak with brief downpours, gusty wind and frequent lightning possible. We’re feeling pretty good overall about the weather for the Broncos game, but it will be pretty warm.

Tonight: If there are any showers and thunderstorms in the area this evening they will end quickly as the sun sets, then mostly clear through the night with low temperatures in the 50s to near 60 for the plains, 40s to near 50 over the mountains.

Extended: We expect a gradual warming trend over the next several days. While very spotty, generally weak thunderstorms are possible at times over and near the mountains through Monday; most areas should not expect to receive very much rain. The latter half of the work week looks very warm and dry. The next cold front looks to arrive this weekend and bring us our next chance for some showers and thunderstorms.
