The other Wristen of the CSU-Pueblo football team

The ferocious Thunderwolves defensive line had seven sack in week one against Dixie State including two and half from senior defensive end Michael Wristen, Hey I know that name! Michael is the nephew of head coach John Wristen, “It depends on the situation, after practice I’ll call him uncle john but during practice I have to respect the coach factor and call him coach,” says Michael Wristen.

So he’s not exactly the coaches sone but close enough, “I get every name in the book, and a couple other names that can’t be said on here so. He’s a lot harder on me I want to say,” says CSU-Pueblo defensive end.

What do you do if Uncle coach just won’t let up at practice, Michael says it’s happened before, two years ago and he had to get the family involved, “So I yelled back at him, talking back like I usually do with him, and I got to the sideline and it was bad. He started ripping me and I was like mom – this is what happened at practice I think you need to call him up and see what’s up,” says Michael Wristen.

He finishes that story by saying “It was all love” and it is that’s the part of the reason why he’s playing at such a high level.
