CSPD looking for a ‘vehicle of interest’ involved in fatal crash near Fountain
The Colorado Springs Police Department is looking for a ‘person of interest’ after a fatal crash occurred near Northbound Academy near Fountain around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police believe the suspect could be driving an older model white/tan truck with a white, camper shell back. They could not confirm whether or not this is the person responsible because they allegedly fled the scene before authorities arrived.

CSPD told KRDO that a total of two vehicles appear to have been involved in the incident, one possibly being a bicyclist who died at the scene. That person’s identity has not been released.
The crash is said to have shut down Northbound Academy Blvd. near Fountain as police continue their investigation. They have not said when they think the road will reopen but are asking residents to avoid the area if at all possible.
