Lost dog found roaming outside KRDO news station shares heartwarming reunion with owner
A lost dog was reunited with her owner outside the KRDO news station Wednesday night after our crews found the pup roaming alone outside the station’s gates.
We posted a photo of the dog, who we now know is named Molly, to our Facebook page around 7:30 p.m. in hopes of reconnecting her with her owner. Two hours later, that was made possible.
Her owner David was not far from the station. He told KRDO he was in a nearby parking lot on South 8th Street with Molly and his other two dogs the night before [Tuesday]. He said the group was visiting a park Wednesday afternoon when Molly managed to escape.
When KRDO found Molly, she seemed very worried and kept leading a few of our crew members into that very same parking lot. At the time, she appeared to be in heat and we immediately thought Molly might have just had a litter of puppies she was trying to guide us to.
Turns out, she was really trying to take us to her owner’s truck. After about the third time of taking her outside, Molly became very excited after spotting a man exiting his truck with two other dogs in the cab.
The dog was instantly in a better mood and began wagging her tail in excitement. It was then that her owner David told us Molly was about a year old. He was also able to point out a birthmark Molly had on one of her paws, so we can be fairly certain he is, in fact, the owner.
The reunion was an awesome thing for our late night crew to get to witness. The entire station was incredibly happy to see the family all back together again.
We did want to thank everyone on both Facebook and Twitter for sharing Molly’s picture and for helping get her and David back together. (PHOTOS)
