Warmth continues through Monday – 08/26/18

Tonight: Isolated storms are possible this evening; while some could be strong, the threat for severe storms is low. Temperatures stay warm this evening before tumbling to the 50s and 60s overnight. After storms diminish into midnightish, mostly clear skies are expected.

Tomorrow: Get ready for another warm day across southern Colorado! Highs will run roughly ten degrees above-average! Summer-like weather will still hang on through Monday in the area. Lots of sunshine will splash over the state, making it feel even warmer. Unfortunately, it will be breezy tomorrow; in fact, we’ll be nearing a Wind Alert Level One at times! This means fire danger will be elevated; however, right now — it’s not high enough to warrant any fire weather alerts. Even still, use caution to avoid outdoor burning.

Extended: Isolated storms are possible Tuesday. This will be due largely to an upper-level system moving north of Colorado. This area of low pressure will push a cold front our direction; that will provide instability and “lift” in the atmosphere, sparking spotty storms. A few could be strong, but stay with us — this forecast is likely to change. Temperatures drop Tuesday along with the surge of cooler northerly air. Temperatures warm back up to above-average levels by Thursday. We’ll be mainly dry throughout the remainder of your seven day forecast with only low chances for sparse storms.
