Tradition continues with Colorado State Fair parade
For those fans who have been waiting for the Colorado State Fair — the wait is over and the annual parade kicked off the festivities Saturday.
This is one of the oldest parades in Colorado.
It’s full of marching bands, cheerleaders, and of course people, about 40,000 of them.
“Every body is out, everybody is friendly with everyone. Everybody is just having a good time,” said Lily Espinoza from Pueblo.
And when it comes to choosing a favorite part, it’s pretty easy for 9-year-old Savannah Perez.
“What do you like about it so far? Everything! Especially the princesses and the queens. That’s literally my favorite part,” said Perez.
Ron Peterson is from Pueblo. As he dances to the music and waves back to the people on the floats, you’d never guess this is only his second time attending the parade.
But there’s one thing he believes will keep him coming back every year.
“Just the excitement from the kids that come by. You know the high schools, they’re all freshman, a lot of them are freshman waiting to go into high school. Ready to rock and roll,” he said.
And this kind of excitement is bound to bring anyone back.
Or at least guide them to more fun at the fairgrounds. The fair will run until Labor day.
