2 OK after plane makes emergency landing near Meadow Lake Airport

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said a plane made an emergency landing near Judge Orr Road and Highway 24 Thursday afternoon, but no injuries were reported.

Two people were seen outside of the plane and were OK, according to a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office says it was a Piper Saratoga that took off from Meadow Lake Airport ( MAP ) but then had engine failure before crashing in the field.

No injuries were reported.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board were notified — the FAA will be the investigating agency.
