Showers and storms today – 8/16/18

TODAY: Our skies will be partly cloudy to partly sunny this afternoon, and that comes with more active weather chances. We will be dry to start the day and will see showers and storms developing over the mountains between 12 and 3PM. Better chances for storms arrive in the lower elevations around 2-4PM before some develop over the eastern plains following the evening drive. Severe weather is not expected today and our highs will warm into he 80s and 90s, with 70s in the mountains.

TONIGHT: Dry skies are in the forecast tonight along with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Lows cool to the 50s and 60s.

EXTENDED: Better storm chances arrive to the area on Friday and Saturday. Storms on Friday have the potential to be strong, with severe weather possible on Saturday afternoon and evening. Sunday looks mostly dry with the exception of a few mountain showers. Rain and storms are only expected to be isolated Monday through Wednesday. Highs over the weekend drop to the 70s and low 80s with 60s over the high terrain.
