Pine Creek remembers coming up short

“Do you want to be the runner up or do you want to be the state champion,” says Pine Creek running back David Moore. That’s the mantra fueling the Eagles this year but they’re only two years removed from winning a 4A state championship, “The loss. It’s always the losses. I think about how that locker room is afterwards I think about how much pain and how much work I put in to not get 2nd,” says senior offensive lineman Adam Weaver, “Both of them still like sit in my head, the first one we won but I didn’t get to participate in it and that one still hurts me,” says senior safety Daniel Bone.

Senior Daniel Bone’s perspective is an interesting one. He tore his A-C-L during that title year, he didn’t get to participate in bringing the trophy home, “It obviously still sticks with me now, like that’s the one main thing that makes me keep going in football right now,” says Bone.
