Strong to severe storms possible today – 8/15/18

TODAY: Any kind of showers and storms that we saw last night will be long gone by the time the morning commute is underway. Patchy fog is also possible in certain areas for the first part of the day. We will be seeing sunshine before showers and storms develop between 12-3PM. Most will start over the mountains and will push east through the day. The coverage looks to be just south and to the east of Colorado Springs. Once storms move past I-25, there are better chances they become strong to severe. Hail, gusty winds and flash flooding look to be the biggest concerns. Highs will be in the 80s to near 90 with 70s for mountain cities.

TONIGHT: A few showers and storms are possible through the first part of tonight with clearing moving in after. Lows cool to the 50s and 60s in most spots.

EXTENDED: The long range forecast brings continued rain and storm chances through the weekend and into the first part of next week. Thursday through Saturday look to be the rainiest of the days before we see things become more isolated. Highs from Saturday through Tuesday cool to the 70s and mid 80s, with 60s likely for mountain cities.
