Pueblo police looking for armed robbers who targeted pawn shops
Pueblo police are looking for two men who tried to break into a pawn shop and then robbed another one minutes later on Friday.
The first attempt happened at about 5:40 p.m. Friday at a pawn shop in the 1600 block of S. Prairie Ave. The two men ran up to the door but couldn’t get in because it was locked. They then fled in a stolen gray Chevrolet Impala.
About 20 minutes later, Pueblo police were called to another pawn shop in the 2600 block of N. Elizabeth Street — this time, the men got into the shop. Employees said they were held at gunpoint while the men smashed display cases and stole several handguns and jewelry. It’s unclear if they also got cash before fleeing in the Impala.
An officer found the Impala in an alley near E. 14th Street at about 8 p.m. and saw two suspects run from the vehicle. Police tried to set up a perimeter but the suspects got away.
The suspects are still on the loose, and Pueblo police need your help finding them but advised the public to not approach them. If you have information, call police at 542-7867.
