Quiet weekend of weather – 08/11/18

Tonight: Overnight lows tumble to the 40s and 50s. Clear skies and storm-free weather are expected in southern Colorado. Only stray storms are possible over the Continental Divide.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny skies will take us through the day Sunday! There could be some haze and smoke in the atmosphere due to fires in California and in Canada as well. Beyond that – enjoy another day of lovely, quiet and mild weather. A few storms are possible again over the highest peaks of the mountains (and possibly in the southeastern plains, although the chance for that is small), but everyone else should just stick with dry weather. Highs will reach the 80s.

Extended: Dry weather is on tap again for the area on Monday except for perhaps the mountains and southeastern plains. Temperatures stay at or above-average throughout the remainder of the seven day forecast. Storms ramp up again on Tuesday with storms becoming more widespread between Wednesday through Friday. Increasing moisture and instability in the atmosphere will help create thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong-to-severe. However, remember: the extended forecast could still change — another good reason to stay with your StormTracker 13 weather team!
