Isolated Storms Today 8-9-18

TODAY: Isolated showers and storms have developed over the higher terrain today. This is mainly where storm coverage will remain today, although a few storms could make their way towards the lower elevations. Severe weather is not expected for the first time in several days, although a heavy downpour could create flash flooding concerns over the recent burn scars. Highs today will be in the 70s in the mountains, and 80s to near 90 in the lower terrain.

TONIGHT: We will be mostly clear and cool tonight. Mountain cities will feel the 40s for lows, while 50s and 60s are in the forecast for the lower elevations.

TOMORROW: Non-severe scattered showers and storms are in the forecast again Friday. A few storms will start over the higher terrain before spilling into the lower elevations. Temperatures will return to the 70s and 80s with some low 90s in the Southeastern Plains.

EXTENDED: A drier pattern sets up in time for the weekend with only very isolated storm activity possible over the higher terrain. Saturday and Sunday look dry and warm with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will continue on a gradual warming trend with areas in the 80s and low 90s through the weekend. Our mountain cities will remain in the 70s. We stay quiet until Tuesday when monsoon moisture returns to the area.
