Another day of severe weather – 8/7/18

TODAY: Some areas will see fog to start things out, otherwise look for dry and quiet conditions. Much like yesterday, a marginal to slight risk of severe weather is in place for the Pikes Peak Region and much of Southern Colorado. Between 12 and 1PM, storms develop over the mountains and in the foothills and strengthen as they move east. They will likely linger around the I-25 corridor a little bit longer than yesterday before moving out over the plains past 6PM. Hail, damaging winds and flash flooding will all be concerns today. That being said, flash flood watches are out for the Pikes Peak Region and the I-25 corridor. Severe storms won’t be as widespread as yesterday and will likely be more isolated.

TONIGHT: Storms wind down for most places and we are left with a partly cloudy sky. Overnight lows will be in the 50s. We will likely see some areas of fog again.

EXTENDED: Tomorrow brings the chance for more strong storms, before we lose the moisture chances for the second half of the week. Rain and storm chances look low on Thursday before we dry out completely on Friday and into the weekend. Coming with the dry weather will be warmer highs. We will also have to start watching for fire danger to elevate into next week.
