Neighborhoods to celebrate National Night Out Tuesday

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging people to participate in National Night Out this Tuesday, August 7.

Neighborhoods throughout El Paso County and the nation are getting together for the 35th annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event. Events are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Neighborhoods will have block parties, cookouts, activities and more. Members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be traveling around El Paso County to attend the neighborhood celebrations.

National Night Out is designed to:

Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness Support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are engaged and fighting back.
