Stormy weather Monday – 08/05/18

Tomorrow: We’ll have partly to mostly cloudy skies Monday with thickening clouds in the afternoon. While weather should be quiet tomorrow morning, it will become active in the afternoon and evening! As a result, we’ve got a Weather Alert in effect. Tomorrow where and when storms develop, there could be pockets of heavy rain and a few cases of large hail and damaging gusts. The risk for tornadoes will be low. Even still, the flash flooding threat will be elevated due to increasing moisture. However, storms won’t necessarily be slow-moving on Monday and that should help to limit that flash-flooding risk somewhat, but we’ll still have to be on alert for rapidly-developing flooding over recent burn scars. Temperatures will be cooler tomorrow in the 70s and 80s for highs.

Extended: The threat for strong-to-severe storms continues into Tuesday and Wednesday. Cases of large hail, powerful gusts and flash flooding are still possible on both of those days. Pack the umbrella and be ready to head indoors should thunderstorms develop! Temperatures will warm to the 80s for most areas on Wednesday. Fewer storms are expected Thursday with relatively drier weather Friday through Sunday.
