Hot temperatures this weekend – 08/03/18

Tonight: Storms will be tracking from the west to the east. Storms should be out of the state by or shortly after midnight. Temperatures cool to the 60s into 10 p.m. and drop to the 50s and 60s for lows overnight. Partly cloudy skies are expected.

Tomorrow: Sunshine and clouds will kick off the day. Highs will be HOT – temperatures soar to the 90s in the lower elevations. Partly sunny skies are on tap for southern Colorado. Afternoon and evening storms are possible; however, they’re not expected to become severe. Also – storms will be less numerous compared to what we’re experiencing today.

Extended: Temperatures stay sizzling on Sunday! Into northern El Paso County on Sunday, one or two storms could become severe, but most stay below that threshold. Temperatures drop dramatically Monday and Tuesday; highs will reach the 70s and 80s due to easterly, upsloping winds. On both Monday and Tuesday, we have an increasing risk of severe storms with flash flooding (particularly we’ll have to be vigilant of burn scars) and a few cases of large hail and damaging gusts. There’s still time for this forecast to change so stick with us! Into midweek, we’ll be drier and warmer.
