Hot with isolated afternoon storms – 8/2/18
TODAY: We start your Thursday off with dry, mostly sunny skies. This means smooth sailing for your morning drive! Highs today climb into the 80s and 90s in the lower elevations, with 70s to low 80s for local mountain cities. By 2PM, spotty showers and storms will be popping up over the mountains. Watch out for lightning, but severe weather is not expected.
TONIGHT: Storms wind down and we are left with a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Lows stay a little warmer thanks to the clouds and should only cool to the 50s and 60s.
EXTENDED: Tomorrow looks like our best day for rain and storms around southern Colorado. It won’t be a complete washout, but you’ll definitely be needing to carry your umbrella most of the day. Because storm and cloud coverage will he higher tomorrow, highs will be a little bit cooler than this afternoon. Moisture chances decrease through Saturday and Sunday and then return again by Monday. Highs over the weekend will top off in the 80s and 90s and will be staying warm into the first part of next week.
