Storms Have Returned 8-1-18

TONIGHT: Most thunderstorm activity will clear Southern Colorado by midnight. Skies will initially be cloudy with gradual clearing taking place into early tomorrow. Lows cool to the 50s and 60s. A few areas in the mountains and high country will feel the 40s.

TOMORROW: Thursday starts dry with sunshine. Temperatures warm slightly above average with highs in the 80s and 90s. A few isolated to scattered thunderstorms once again develop for the afternoon. Most storm coverage remains confined to I-25 and areas westward. Main threats will once again be brief heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds.

EXTENDED: Additional moisture arrives by Friday bringing increased coverage of showers and storms. These will develop over the higher terrain during the afternoon and spread eastward during the evening. Gusty winds, lightning and heavy rain will be the main threats, but a few severe storms can’t be ruled out. The threat for flash flooding will also increase, especially over burn scars. Highs warm to the 80s and 90s. The weekend looks mainly dry and warm. Isolated storms will be possible mainly over the mountains. Storm coverage looks to increase again by Monday.
