Video captures bear eating deer in Colorado Springs
A bear eating a deer isn’t that uncommon, but catching the act on video certainly is.

Megan Gallagher looked out her backyard north of Rockrimmon and saw the lil’ Smokey tearing into the deer’s carcass last Friday evening.
It was a grisly sight, but Colorado Parks and Wildlife says it’s normal for bears to be storing food away for winter at this time.
CPW says bears will consume about 20,000 calories a day in preparation for hibernation. Bears are omnivores, but it’s difficult to reach that calorie count with berries alone.
This video follows another wild bear video last week when a bear was found stuck in a storm drain in south Colorado Springs.
