Severe weather tonight, quieter tomorrow – 07/29/18
Tonight: We’re tracking the potential for more active weather in southern Colorado! We have Flash Flood Watches continuing until 6 a.m. for the southeastern plains. In similar areas, we have Severe Thunderstorm Watches in place until 1 a.m. Large hail and damaging gusts are possibilities in a few cases into early Monday morning. Remember: when thunder roars, head indoors! Storms overnight will be tracking to the southeast. Lows drop to the 50s and 60s.
Tomorrow: A much quieter weather day is expected across southern Colorado! Temperatures will be crisp and below-average (by about ten degrees in some spots!). A few showers are possible early tomorrow, but we have a better chance in the afternoon. Enjoy the relatively mild weather. We could still be dealing with thunderstorms; however, storms don’t look to become severe.
Extended: Tuesday appears to offer a break from the storms, but that monsoonal moisture returns by Wednesday. Thereafter, storms continue on a daily basis. Temperatures remain below-the-norm the next few days before warming up by this upcoming weekend.
