Fort Carson announces winter deployment for Headquarters Battalion

The Headquarters Battalion of the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson will be deploying to Afghanistan in the coming months.

According to a news release sent Thursday by the Mountain Post, the HHBN will replace the 101st Airborne Division Headquarters this winter.

Fort Carson has already deployed two other battalions from the 4th Infantry Division.

The mission will be in support of Operations Freedom’s Sentinel, and the deployment is a part of the regular rotation of forces.
