Colorado Springs police respond to deadly rollover

The Colorado Springs Police Department and the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a fatal crash that happened on Circle Drive near the I-25 off-ramp Thursday morning.

Authorities say a woman was involved in the crash. She was coming off the I-25 northbound exit ramp and went across the first median, and it was when she went over the second median that she rolled her car.

The single-car crash shut down Circle in both directions near the scene for three hours.

Colorado Springs Police Lieutenant, Howard Black, said an investigation is underway.

“Not sure if we’re dealing with mechanical failure or speed. It’s way too early in this investigation to know what was the actual cause,” lt. Black said.

If the fatality turns out to be traffic related, it will be the 26 traffic fatality this year.
