Woman charged with second-degree murder in northeast Colorado Springs death investigation

Colorado Springs police say a man has died following a disturbance in the 6300 block of Cabana Circle on the northeast side of the city.

CSPD responded to the disturbance shortly after 12 a.m. Saturday.

Police tell us, when officers arrived they found an adult male inside the home with traumatic injuries. Police then attempted lifesaving efforts. The Colorado Springs Fire Department then arrived on-scene and also attempted lifesaving efforts. None of the attempts were successful and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

CSPD says the person who reported the disturbance is also a person of interest and is cooperating with detectives.

Saturday night CSPD said they have arrested 31-year-old Jacqueline Souza from Colorado Springs for second-degree degree murder.

The name of the victim has yet to be released.
