Girl Scouts add new badges geared towards STEM programs
Girl Scouts of the USA announced the addition of 30 new badges Wednesday.
The new badges are aimed towards STEM programs as the organization is changing with the times. The goal is to prepare girls for a modern world, filled with digital opportunities.
The Verge reports the badges will be available for girls between the ages of five and 18 for their efforts and advocacy in cybersecurity, robotics, computer science, space exploration and the environment.
Girls will earn the badges when they learn how to code or design robots, take action to protect the environment, or learn how to spot crimes being committed online.
