More flash flooding concerns today – 7/16/18

TODAY: Showers and storms will be developing around the area once more this afternoon. Areas of locally heavy rain are possible, especially over the southern mountains. This is where flash flood watches are in place through the evening. The eastern plains could also see areas of showers and storms today. Highs will warm into the 70s and 80s in the lower elevations. 70s for local mountain cities.

TONIGHT: Showers and storms will be tapering off tonight. Overnight lows cool to the 50s and 60s.

EXTENDED: Tomorrow brings more chances for showers and storms, though not as great as the last couple of days. If showers and storms occur over area burn scars, flash flooding will be a concern yet again. Highs will be slightly warmer tomorrow. By Wednesday and Thursday things will be downright hot with temperatures in the 90s and 100s. Mountain cities will be in the 80s. This warm up is thanks to dry skies.
