Relatively dry today and stormy tomorrow – 07/14/18

Today: Across southern Colorado, we’ll only have very isolated storms this afternoon. However, storms really increase Sunday. For today, storms aren’t expected to become severe; even still, if a strong storm moves over a recent burn scar, we’ll have to be on the lookout for flash flooding concerns. Highs today will reach the 80s and 90s. Temperatures will be very similar compared to what we got yesterday. We’ll have lots of sunshine.

Tonight: Overnight, we’ll deal with quieter weather. Lows cool to the 50s and 60s early Sunday morning.

Extended: Storms ramp up in strength and coverage Sunday. I’m not expected large hail or damaging gusts in southern Colorado, but that could be the case in one or two storms in northern Colorado. Instead, we have the potential for pockets of heavy rain and downpours. We’ll have to stay vigilant for flash flooding issues potentially developing over local, recent burn scars. Some storms could continue overnight and through the day Monday! Temperatures drop below-average on Monday, but rise again by the end of next week. It appears southern Colorado will dry up starting Wednesday.
