Multi-vehicle crash blocks Highway 24 near Falcon

A car was on fire after a multi-vehicle accident blocked both directions of Highway 24 in Falcon Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Falcon Fire Department, a semi-trailer truck was on fire east of Stapleton Drive. (MAP) That fire was extinguished by about 3:55 p.m. but both lanes remained closed.

Crews were still on scene through 4 p.m. working to clear the wreck.

The Colorado State Patrol says the crash involved a Lincoln sedan and the semi-trailer truck, though it’s not clear what led to the crash. The semi-trailer burned down after the crash.

The driver of the truck was OK but the driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Neither driver was identified.

Officers are directing traffic at Hwy 24 and Judge Orr as well as Hwy 24 and Stapleton.
