Rain and flash flooding concerns – 7/12/18

TODAY: We start the day off dry in most locations with showers developing over the mountains by late morning. These spread east into the lower elevations through the afternoon. Look for off and on showers and storms to continue right through tonight. Some of these storms could produce areas of heavier rain, creating flash flood concerns over new burn scars. Flash flood watches are in place over the Spring Fire burn scar through today. Most places will be left with 0.10-0.25″ of rain through this evening.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies. A few isolated showers and storms are possible. Lows cool to the 50s and 60s.

EXTENDED: The rainy trend continues right into Tuesday of next week. Right now, it looks like the rainiest days of the stretch will be Friday and Sunday afternoon. Because of this rain, temperatures will only warm into the mid 80s and low 90s. Wednesday is dry right now, but rain chances may be added in the coming days. Stay with KRDO for the latest.
