Three people dead after single car crash on July 4

Three people are dead after a single car crash on Falcon Highway that happened at 6:47 on the night of July 4.

The driver, 30-year-old Jay Dickson of Peyton, was with 45-year-old William Huston, 37-year-old James Jones and 48-year-old Richard McManus.

Dickson was traveling westbound in his 1994 Honda Civic when his car began to drift to the right. He overcorrected to the left, causing the Honda to rotate in a counter-clockwise direction. The car collided with a delineator post and utility post, causing the ejection of all four occupants.

Dickson was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene. Huston and Jones were also not wearing seatbelts and were pronounced dead on the scene.

McManus suffered minor injuries.

The Colorado Springs State Patrol is investigating the crash. Alcohol and speed are considered a factor in the crash.
