Pueblo police arrest wanted man, seize heroin and handguns

A 22-year-old fugitive in Pueblo was arrested by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Pueblo police Wednesday, and he was found with drugs and weapons.

Isaiah Atencio-Gonzales, 22, was wanted for three active warrants for probation violations on three separate cases. He was found on the south side of Pueblo by investigators, according to a news release sent Thursday. One of the officers noticed a handgun near him in a vehicle, so a search warrant was obtained.

Investigators found two handguns and more than two ounces of heroin, along with several digital scales. One of the handguns also had a 50-round drum magazine.

Atencio-Gonzales was taken into custody for the probation violations, and he was also charged with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule 1 substance and special offender.
