1 suspect dead after shooting involving Pueblo police

Pueblo police say one suspect is dead after fatally stabbing another man Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to a fight between the two men in the Bessemer area, but police haven’t said what led up to the fight. One victim died at the hospital as a result of stab wounds.

Pueblo police told KRDO that when officers responded to the house in the 1200 block of E. Abriendo Ave., the suspect with the knife confronted them. That’s when officers opened fire, killing the suspect.

The Pueblo Police Department said one officer received a minor injury during the incident but has been treated and released.

Neither men have been identified at this time.
