High fire danger today, few storms tomorrow – 7/3/18
TONIGHT: Red flag warnings are in place for the area through 8PM tonight. Gusty winds and dry conditions will continue to allow for quick spreading fires. An isolated shower or storm is possible this evening, but most activity will be in the northeast part of the state. Look for mainly dry, partly cloudy to mostly clear skies through tonight and lows in the 50s and 60s.
EXTENDED: Tomorrow brings the chance for spotty afternoon and evening showers and storms. A couple of these could become strong. You’ll want to keep this in mind for any of your 4th of July plans. Highs on Wednesday will warm into the 80s and 90s in the lower elevations with 70s in the mountains. We will be much cooler by Tuesday due to widespread rain and storms. This will keep the fire danger at bay for a day. Drying moves back in by the weekend and in turn, highs also warm up.
