Donations needed for Teller County crews battling High Chateau Fire

The Teller County Sheriff’s Office says the more-than-400 first responders assisting in the fight against the High Chateau Fire are in need of supplies as the blaze enters its fifth day.

The fire had burned 1,400 acres as of Tuesday morning and was about 15 percent contained.

According to the sheriff’s office website, the following supplies can be brought to the TCSO lobby at 11400 US Hwy 24 in Divide. (MAP)

Toothbrush/Toothpaste Mouthwash Foot Powder Socks Moleskin, vaseline, and wraps for blisters Baby Powder Emergen‐C Beef Jerky (they love the combo packs with cheese) Neosporin 13 Gallon Trash Bags Batteries AA & AAA Mountain Dew Energy Drinks Water Gatorade/Powerade High Energy Snacks – nuts, granola bars, etc. – individual wrapped items are appreciated ChapStick Baby Wipes Eye Drops Throat Lozenges Sunscreen Antacids Aspirin/Ibuprofen

The Teller County Regional Animal Shelter also needs blue Dawn dishwashing liquid and fuel cards. If you can donate, contact the shelter at 719-686-7707. The Teller County Fairgrounds also needs hay, water troughs, and water for the evacuated animals.
