Police catch juvenile suspect after three people stabbed on Gold Camp Rd.

Colorado Springs police are investigating a stabbing that happened late Sunday night, involving three victims on Gold Camp Road and Hydra Drive.

Upon arrival officer located three victims, two of which had stab wounds to their torso. One of the victims sustained a stab wound to the chest which was serious and life-threatening. That victim is now in stable condition and is expected to recover. The other two victims had non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims said they were assaulted by a group of Hispanic males between the ages of 18 and 22 years-old.

Officer located a vehicle leaving the scene near Lower Gold Camp Road and 21st Street. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle drove away from officers, starting a short pursuit. The pursuit ended after the vehicle drove into a dead end cul de sac.

Three passengers were detained and the driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot. Containment was set up in the area and a K9 was able to track the suspect, who surrendered and was taken into custody.

Police say the suspect in the case is a juvenile and was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of vehicular eluding.

The CSPD Violent Crimes Unit is assuming control of the incident and will continue to investigate.
