Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Colorado Springs

8:39 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for Bent and Otero Counties until 9:00 p.m. Half dollar sized hail and 60 mph winds are possible with this storm. Moving east at 15 mph, no cities or towns are currently in this storms path.

7:16 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been canceled for El Paso County. No active watches and warnings are in place.

6:21 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS for western and eastern El Paso County have been allowed to expire. No active severe thunderstorm warnings are present in the area. Stay with KRDO for the latest through the rest of the evening. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH remains for El Paso County through 9:00 p.m..

5:49 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for eastern El Paso County until 6:15 p.m.. Quarter sized hail is possible. Moving east toward Rush, hugging Colorado 84.

5:47 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for western El Paso County until 6:15 p.m. Quarter sized hail possible. Moving east toward downtown Colorado Springs and Cimarron Hills.

5:30 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for El Paso County has been allowed to EXPIRE. No active severe thunderstorm warnings are present in the area. Stay with KRDO for the latest through the rest of the evening. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH remains for El Paso County through 9:00 p.m..

5:22 – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING continues for El Paso County until 5:30 p.m. Hail is now quarter sized. Moving off to the east.

5:00 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for central El Paso County until 5:30 p.m.. This storm is capable of producing ping pong ball sized hail. Pockets of locally heavy rain are also possible. This storm is moving off to the east at 30 mph.

4:52 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for central El Paso County until 5 p.m. Hail up to quarter size is falling out of this storm. This was located just east of I-25 between Briargate and Cimarron Hills. This storm is tracking toward Falcon.

4:31 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for Northwest El Paso County until 5 p.m. Storm is capable of producing quarter sized hail. Heavy rain and pounding on roads is likely due to slow movement of the storm and heavy rain. Storm is moving Northeast at 10 mph toward Briargate and Stetson Hills. This storm will cross I-25.

4:30 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for western El Paso County has been allowed to EXPIRE.

4:08 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for western El Paso County until 4:30 p.m.. Storm is capable of producing quarter sized hail and 60 mph winds. It was located near the Air Force Academy and is moving east at 15 mph. Rockrimmon and Briargate are in the path of this storm.

4:07 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING has been canceled for central El Paso County.

4:00 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING (re-issued) for El Paso County until 4:15 p.m. Storm that was previously producing ping pong ball sized hail has weakened. Expect quarter sized hail and wind gusts as high as 60 mph. The storm is now over NE Colorado Springs and is moving east at 10 mph.

3:47 – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for El Paso County until 4 p.m. Storm is capable of producing ping pong ball sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts. It was located over southern Colorado Springs and is moving off to the SE at 15 mph.

3:29 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for El Paso County until 4 p.m. Storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter sized hail. Moving east at 25 mph. Schriever Air Force Base is in the path of this storm.

3:17 p.m. – SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING has been CANCELED for El Paso County. The Storm is now below severe limits (hail smaller than 1″ and wind gusts below 58 mph).

2:59 p.m. – A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING has been issued for El Paso County until 3:30 p.m.. Half dollar size hail and 60 mph winds are possible. The storm was located over northeast Colorado Springs and is moving toward Falcon.

2:23 p.m. – A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for El Paso County and Lincoln Counties until 9PM Saturday night. Strong to severe storms are possible through the late afternoon and evening. Hail and strong winds will be the primary threats.
