Cooler Weather Ahead 6-29-18
TONIGHT: Skies remain cloudy with smoke in the air. Some clearing will take place early. Lows are expected in the 50s and 60s. A cold front will arrive overnight shifting winds from the north. This could bring periods of gusty winds as the front moves through.
TOMORROW: Much cooler temperatures are expected thanks to the passing of a cold front. Highs will only reach the 70s and 80s which is 15-20 degrees cooler than our recent heat stretch. Fire danger will decrease from extreme levels to a high level as higher humidity returns. Strong to severe storms are also possible through Southern Colorado for the afternoon and evening. Gusty winds, large hail and lightning will all be possible.
EXTENDED: Sunday quiets down with only isolated storms expected over some of the mountains. Temps remain cool in the 70s and 80s. Parts of the Plains could reach the low 90s. Storms remain very isolated next week as a warming trend kicks in. Temps will be above average but not as warm as our recent heat stretch. A few storms will be possible on July 4th.
