High fire danger today – 6/28/18
TODAY: We will be dealing with critical fire danger around the area today. Red flag warnings will be in place from noon until 9PM for much of the area. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph through the afternoon, so a wind alert level 1 is also out. We will have record highs in the upper 90s in the Springs today. Record warmth is also possible in Pueblo as highs climb into the 100s. Mountain cities today will be in the 80s. An isolated afternoon storm is possible, mainly over the higher terrain.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast tonight with lows in the 50s and 60s.
EXTENDED: We stay hot and mainly dry for tomorrow before a weekend cool down arrives. Highs will be in the 80s and 90s in the lower elevations, with 60s and 70s in the mountains. Spotty showers and storms are possible Saturday through 4th of July.
