Mostly sunny and hot – 06/26/18

Today: Highs will be sizzling today! Temperatures will reach the 90s and low 100s for the lower elevations with the 80s for the local mountains. There will be lots of sunshine, and this will only make temperatures feel warmer! Winds should be light. In order to stay cool, take breaks from being outside. Stay hydrated, and don’t forget about the sunscreen! Remember, the hottest parts of the day are between 1-4 p.m. We stay storm-free again today.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies will take us through the night. Lows tumble to the 50s and 60s. It should be quiet and mild.

Extended: We stick with the 90s and low 100s the next several days! In Colorado Springs and Pueblo, we (for the most part) fall shy of meeting or exceeding any records; however, we’ll be close! Time will tell. The hottest day should be Thursday. Fire danger will unfortunately be elevated between Thursday and Saturday due to low relative humidity levels and gusty conditions. Avoid outdoor burning! Temperatures start dropping this weekend as cooler air works into southern Colorado. We also have a slight chance for isolated storms beginning this weekend.
