Line of storms moves east across Colorado Springs area

A line of storms has developed from Fremont County northeast to Elbert County and is moving east, capable of dropping hail and rain across parts of Woodland Park, Monument and Colorado Springs.

The storms aren’t severe yet, as the hail was reported to be about dime sized. Stronger storms were north and south of Colorado Springs. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for southeast Colorado until 8 p.m.

The storms are expected to strengthen throughout the noon hour and could bring larger hail.
