Record warmth today, rain this weekend – 6/15/18

TODAY: Temperatures will remain hot today, with most of the area being in the low to mid 90s, and parts of the eastern plains reaching 100. Colorado Springs and Pueblo might even break record highs! We still have a chance of isolated showers and storms this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Any storms in the area will move out this evening, leaving behind mostly cloudy skies. Temps across the area will be in the upper 50s to low 60s, with a chance for some 70s in the eastern plains.

EXTENDED: As remnants of Tropical Storm Bud begin to move through the southwestern United States, excess moisture will bring increased rain chances for this weekend, especially across the high country. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible in some areas, bringing an increased threat for flash flooding, especially on local burn scars. On Sunday, a cold front will pass through the area, increasing chances of rain across the eastern plains. Make sure to have a Plan B to celebrate dad indoors on Father’s Day in case you get caught in the rain. However, thanks to the rain from this weekend, temperatures will drop noticeably into next week!
