Raid in Teller County nets $1.4M worth of illegal marijuana

Teller County deputies and police in Woodland Park raided a house and found hundreds of pounds of marijuana that they say would’ve fetched more than a million dollars on the black market.

The raid happened Thursday in the 600 block of Calico Court, and police found 288 pounds of marijuana plants, which police said was evidence of an illegal distribution operation.

Police said in a news release the plants would’ve been worth about $1.4 million on the black market.

A Ukrainian woman, Svitlana Azovska, was arrested and charged with felony cultivation.
