Pueblo police arrest man after standoff

Pueblo police arrested a man who barricaded himself inside a house Wednesday morning.

Officers blocked off a stretch of Apollo Ln., in the Belmont area after a caller reported that her son armed himself with a knife and threatened her and her husband around 6 a.m.

Officers found 31-year-old Philip Temeyosa inside the house and attempted to talk to him. Pueblo police say that’s when Temeyosa showed them a large butcher knife and threatened them.

That started a standoff while police got warrants to arrest Temeyosa. Negotiators worked to extract him in the meantime, but he didn’t leave.

It wasn’t until SWAT officers prepared to enter the house that Temeyosa came out of the house peacefully and was taken into custody around 11 a.m.

Temeoysa faces five charges of menacing with a deadly weapon.
