Strong to severe storms possible tonight – 6/12/18
TODAY: An isolated shower or storm is possible this afternoon, but most should hold off until later this evening. Look for some sunshine and highs in the 80s and 90s, with 70s in the mountains. Better chances for scattered storms will occur around the evening commute and following sunset. Some of those storms could produce wind and large hail. An isolated tornado is also possible out over the plains.
TONIGHT: Any storms that linger past midnight will be in the far eastern plains toward the Kansas border. Lows cool into the 50s and 60s tonight.
EXTENDED: Spotty storms are possible around the southern part of the state all week. Highs remain in the 80s and 90s, with 70s in the mountains. By Father’s Day Weekend, more widespread rain and storms move in. This is great news for crews battling area fires. Coming with this rain and storm activity are much cooler temperatures in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Low 80s are possible in the Arkansas River Valley and out over the plains.
