Mostly sunny and mainly dry – 06/08/18
Today: Highs will reach the 90s and 100s for the lower elevations with the 70s and 80s for the local mountains. It will be another sizzling afternoon across southern Colorado! Today, we’ll have mostly sunny skies. Clouds could increase a bit this afternoon. In the far eastern plains near the Kansas state line, there could be one or two isolated severe storms with large hail and damaging gusts. However, most stay dry. We can’t rule out a stray storm elsewhere, but most will just deal with the heat and sunshine.
Tonight: Lows drop to the 50s and 60s under mostly clear skies. Any ongoing storms are expected to lose steam and die down.
Extended: Unfortunately, fire danger remains elevated this weekend; in fact, it will increase slightly Saturday and Sunday due to breezy wind speeds. Highs could be even HOTTER this weekend. Plan accordingly to take breaks outside and stay hydrated! Into the middle of next week, we’re tracking changes. It will be noticeably cooler and slightly wetter. We’ll monitor our forecast for the latest and bring you any changes!
