Republican candidates for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District participate in Woodland Park debate

Several Republican candidates running for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District participated in a debate in Woodland Park on Thursday night.

The debate was held in the Woodland Park High School Auditorium. Before the debate began, the participating candidates held a meet and greet prior to the debate as well.

Owen Hill, Darryl Glenn, Tyler Stevens, and Bill Rhea all took part in the debate.

Some of the main topics discussed were discrimination, gun violence in schools, education funding, the federal budget, and pro-life funding.

The incumbent for this congressional seat, Congressman Doug Lamborn, was noticeably absent from the debate. Organizers said he was invited, but declined to participate.

The primary election in Colorado will take place on June 26th.

The only Democratic candidate who will be listed on the ballot for this seat will be Stephany Rose Spaulding.

The 5th Congressional District covers areas of El Paso and Teller Counties.
