Former Colorado Springs Taekwondo coach gets 3 years for child sex crimes

A former Taekwondo coach in Colorado Springs was sentenced to a little more than three years in prison for child sex assault.

Glenn Allen Lainfiesta was sentenced by a judge Tuesday to 39 months in prison for attempted sexual assault of a child by someone in a position of trust and misdemeanor sexual contact – no consent.

Lainfiesta had turned himself in last year and was found guilty of the two crimes in March after being accused of having sexual contact with two minors.

Lainfiesta was an employee at the Academy of Life and Leadership Taekwondo at the Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs.

A former sparring coach in Colorado Springs who was accused of child sex assault was convicted on lesser charges on Friday.

Glenn Lainfiesta turned himself in to the El Paso County Jail on April 18, 2017, after reports of him inappropriately touching minors surfaced.

Lainfiesta was an employee at the Academy of Life and Leadership Taekwondo at the Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs.

On Friday, he was convicted of one felony Criminal Attempt to Commit Sexual Assault on a Child by one in a Position of Trust and one misdemeanor Unlawful Sexual Contact. He was acquitted of a felony count of Sexual Assault on a Child by one in a Position of Trust.
