Peyton baseball team will play in 2A semi’s
Seventeen wins in a row doesn’t happen by accident, “You got the two’s to the bull horns, you’ve got the arrows,” says junior pitcher, Rodney Gregg. You need a little luck, “You just do this and when the pitch comes you shoot the arrow,” says junior catcher, Austin Strobel. Peyton baseball is a superstitious bunch and the conductor of this supernatural train is junior ace Rodney Gregg,
“Most people think I’m pretty weird whenever I get ready the same exact way it’s right sock left sock, everything is exactly the same. What I eat before and everything,” says Gregg.
They even subscribe to pleasing the baseball God, Joe-Boo, “Jobu, ayudame in esta momento.”
Swinging into the 2-A semi-finals for the first time in school history, Joe-Boo seems to be on their side, “I think it kinda adds in a little bit you know we work hard out here but we have fun with it too with that superstition, it keeps us focused,” says Strobel.
