Colorado Springs first-grader hands out shirts in hope to end bullying
A student from Giberson Elementary School spent much of her first grade school year crying because of bullies.
Angel Davis is in the first grade and as bullies were getting the best of her, she decided to turn around her experience into a positive one. On her last day of class, Davis gave out 25 t-shirts with a positive message: “Stomp out bullying” hoping bullies at her school get the message.
Angel asked her mom if she could sell her own toys for money to buy the t-shirts. Davis managed to save $40, and with the help of a local print shop that found about her story, she gave one to her teacher and classmates before summer vacation.
Angel says bullying won’t break her down anymore and that it needs to come to an end.
“Let’s have a happy world, not a sad world,” said Davis.
Angel and her mother plan to do more fundraisers to spread the message.
